Lost Childhoods - The Plight of the Parentified Child By Therese Kruger I am a parentified child, though most of my life I was unaware that was what it was called. This book is an excellent resource to help you understand what it means to be a parentified child and to help you identify and understand how being a parentified child has affected your life and attitudes.

Great book on a very real problem By Healthy Packers This book really is the only book I found that describes and articulates the very prevalent but unfortunately not very studied field of Child Parentification. And it does a good job at that.If you feel or know you were parentified as child, read it. It will help you define and identify your feelings. It will help you articulate them and give you the, much needed, feeling that "you're not crazy".Although there is a fair amount of the "solutions" to the problem, I would've liked to see more on it.It is a great book on a very real problem. Very well written for therapist and "regulars" alike.
