About the Author Alex Kendrick is a follower of Jesus Christ and has a passion to tell stories of hope and redemption. He is a co-writer for the screenplays and books, and he's the director and editor for the Kendrick Brothers' films. Misleading description By Tracy Crump Calling this a leader kit implies that it contains a book that will help a Bible study leader facilitate the class. The "kit" does contain a DVD, but the book is exactly the same as the student workbook. The description should explain this. It would make more sense to just sell the DVD separately. I'm sure we'll enjoy the Bible study, but I'm disappointed that the description is misleading.BTW, the description on the student workbooks states, "War Room Bible Study Book includes 5 scriptural lessons and inspiring movie clips found in the new Kendrick Brothers’ movie War Room." That implies the DVD is included with the student books. It is not.

The Leader Kit is the same as the member book, but includes a DVD with clips from the movie. These were very helpful for members who hadn't seen the War Room movie.The study is not _about_ War Room, but rather some of the topics raised: accountability, grace, and so forth. Very good daily exercises.
16 of 17 people found the following review helpful. Good for short term Bible study, lighter work load than others By beecuzisayso Bought this for the women's Bible study class I teach. We wanted to do a study related to prayer and this was one of the suggestions that I reviewed and ultimately decided to use. It is a pretty good study and has a lot of questions to stimulate discussion among the group. It has fewer weekly assignments than other studies we have used in the past, only three vs. five days of assignments. Usually this would be something I would put in the "con" category but it was one of the reasons we chose this study as we were looking for a shorter study (This is only five weeks vs sever or eight weeks) and one that had a lighter assignment load to ease our class into the new year after taking Most of December off due to all the scheduling conflicts from the holidays. There is a DVD that comes with it and there is a short, less than five minutes or so, video to view each week. You could do the study without the leader kit, the only difference between it and the regular book is the inclusion of the DVD, but there would be a few of the discussion questions you would have a hard time answering. The clips are from the movie and so you might be able to do the discussion if the movie had been viewed recently, depending on your memory! There is not as much author provided material/insight as you might be used to from other studies from Beth Moore or Priscilla Shirer, but there are plenty of questions and material to stimulate discussion in your group if they are wiling to participate.
