There was noticeable growth and stretching of this authors limitations from the first installment to this third, that I can't help but mentioning. This was a well written classic mob story. Cora the main heroine had to shed her naivety to fit in this new mob world she married into. Marcus her husband, and also the supposed criminal underworld mob boss seemed like a boy scout and sweet kitty cat compared to the other friends/associates in Cora's life who lead such seedy, weird lives. These characters extra-curricular activities were just too-much and turned the story more into a freak show of sorts thats distracted from the Mob story I initially picked up book one for. Leaving minimal interactions with Marcus and all that he encompasses. Not sure if there will be more in this series, but I want more Cora and Marcus tell everyone else in this story to back off.The cover of this book is amazing! Beautiful.

By Mwaka You know that feeling you get when you wake up from a good dream and you just want to go back to sleep and continue enjoying it. That is what I felt when I came to the end of this trilogy, as it was that good I just wanted to keep myself immersed in the life of Marcus and Cora.This is the first time I have read Lee’s books and she has a fan in my now, boy does she know how to spin a tale that engrosses you, you just don’t want it to end.I will not go in details about what happens in the book as I do not like spoilers, but one of my favourite phrases was “Not a god, Say my name”. Now I will let you minds wonder what that was all about and just encourage you to pick up this book and read it.If you love Sylvia Day’s Crossfire series, you will definitely love Innocence in the Underworld.

During this time she has done everything possible in order to fight for her freedom and independence. Marcus has given her the space that she has asked for so that she can figure out where she stands in their relationship. He is currently dealing with the fallout of a lost shipment and a war in in the wings. Cora continues to find trouble everywhere she turns and she is kidnapped once again by Marcus's enemies. Will the two lovers be able to find happiness in the end. - I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
