Beautiful Pictures of Tigers and Amazing Facts By Rebecca of Amazon "It is better to have lived one day as a tiger than a thousand years as a sheep." ~ Tibetan sayingIf you are looking for a book on tigers this book is essential. It has the most amazing facts I've ever read in a book about big cats. This book also has information on ligers and tigons. Basically this book explains the habitats of each type of tiger, tells you what it eats and shows a picture. The pictures in this book are really beautiful actually. I found them to show the majesty of this creature. I especially loved the picture of the Siberian tiger hunting underwater. There is also some intriguing information as to why some tigers are such good swimmers. You will also love to know that tigers can make sounds humans can't hear. But apparently you can feel the sound in your bones. Pretty scary huh? This book is the most educational and entertaining book I've read about Tigers. You will love it!~The Rebecca Review

Sherwin Kay de Silva’s excellent children’s book about tigers has a great deal of information about them; even I myself as an adult learned so much about them thanks to her sophisticated writing style that is yet quite accessible and understandable to children not to mention the beautiful, colorful photographs in this short but very educational book! Kay teaches her readers about these creatures we call tigers with fascinating information about their anatomy; their habitat; how they camouflage themselves practically instinctively—and the facts about their sight and smell impressed me, too!And there’s a great deal more in this book—for example, how tigers use infrasound (“sounds below the human range of hearing”)so that they can effectively paralyze their prey although you’ll feel their sound (and power) “in your bones.” Tigers are actually very good swimmers and we also discover how tigers, animals that usually travel alone, mark their territory. Kay de Silva also gives kids (and grownups reading along with them) information on what tigers love to eat—deer is just one example—and how tigers prey on other animals.In addition to all this, de Silva shows readers photos of different types of tigers with brief but excellent descriptions of each type and where in the world they are found—specifically mentioned are Bengal Tigers; Indochinese Tigers; Malayan Tigers; Siberian Tigers; South China Tigers; Sumatran Tigers and White Tigers. We also learn about ligers, “the offspring of a father lion and a mother tiger” and tigons which are “(the) pairing of a father tiger and mother lion.”Believe it or not there are still more interesting facts about tigers in this book! Suffice it to say that children and even adults will get a superlative introduction to tigers of many sorts by reading this very fine book.Kay de Silva has given us a wonderful children’s book about tigers; it’s the perfect introduction to this beautiful and remarkable creature. The book should also help kids realize the importance of protecting “these glorious animals.” The vocabularies of children will simultaneously be enhanced as they read this book and that’s grand. I highly recommend this book for children who are animal lovers, kids interested in wildlife and nature as well as adults who will happily bond with kids as they read this book with children. The author, Kay de Silva, has given us a series to savor. Today, I concentrated on 'Tigers', also known as the Big Cat.Tigers are amazing creatures, indeed. I have only seen them in person in the zoo. Of course, I have seen them in film and on television. I learned a great deal about tigers from this book, and my granddaughter was fascinated with them. Here are a few facts I learned, I will leave most of them for you to read about.Tigers are the largest of cats. They have been known to roam this world for 2 millin years. The average tiger is 11 feet long and weighs 670 pounds. Can you even imagine? They live in Asia and Far East Russia. Tigers have the brightest of eyes, and hunt at night when their eyes are 6 times that of humans. They have the greatest of roars, and they also have what is called an 'infrasound' which is below the human hearing range. You may not be able to hear the tiger, but you can feel it in your bones. They love to swim, and they can swim up to 18 miles per day. One of the saddest facts is that the tiger is an endangered species, there are only 400 in the world.The pictures in this ebook are brilliant. Each type of tiger is described, and you can see the picture of that tiger. The picture of their eyes is breathtaking, yellow/green eyes that seem to see into your soul. All aspects of a tiger are discussed. Almost any question you might have about them are described. I really liked this book a lot.Recommended. 04-02-14
