Review "Her (Cradit's) talent for creating atmosphere rivals Daphne du Maurier. This is modern Gothic with fierce smarts. Can't say it enough. I loved this book."- Christopher Rice, New York Times Bestselling Author of The Heavens Rise"It takes a great writer like Cradit to weave the threads of so many characters into an enjoyable story. I have no doubt that the name Cradit will one day be associated with the echelon of gothic fiction writers, namely Radcliffe, Blackwood, and Rice."- Becket, Bestselling Author and Assistant to Anne Rice"Sarah Cradit's writing is tight and masterful. Her keen sense of how to pace a book and her ability to use just the right language to express the desires, fears and hopes of her characters is flawless."- Ionia Martin, Vine Top 100 Reviewer, Readful Things"Cradit does an incredible job of building suspense. It's a slow, moody, edge of your seat suspense with a palpable sense of foreboding. This atmosphere kicks the book off and slowly escalates as you sink deeper into it."- Julie Whiteley, Clue Review"The books are well written, the plot flows so quickly that you reach the end of the story well before you are ready and without realizing how much time has gone by since you were enchanted, committed and flung into the world of the Sullivan's, Deschanel's and their friends. You become a part of their lives as you are reading the books and think about the characters long after you have finished reading the book."- Stephenee Carsten, Nerd Girl Official"The writing is top-notch, the story gripping and fast-paced, and the character development incredible. I will be impatiently awaiting the next installment."- Teri Polen, Books & Such

About the Author Sarah is the USA Today Bestselling Author of the Paranormal Southern Gothic series, The House of Crimson & Clover, born of her combined passion for New Orleans, family sagas, and the mysterious complexity of human nature. Her work has been described as rich, emotive, and highly dimensional. An unabashed geek, Sarah enjoys studying subjects like the Plantagenet and Ptolemaic dynasties, and settling debates on provocative Tolkien topics such as why the Great Eagles are not Gandalf's personal taxi service. Passionate about travel, Sarah has visited over twenty countries collecting sparks of inspiration (though New Orleans is where her heart rests). She's a self-professed expert at crafting original songs to sing to her very patient pets, and a seasoned professional at finding ways to humiliate herself (bonus points if it happens in public). Intriguing short story By CathyR As ten-year olds, triplets Kelley, Dillon and Kieran Landry were intent on discovering any and all information and literature they could find about vampires, even forming a secret club which they named the Liga Vanatorilor de Vampiri. As the years passed Dillon’s and Kieran’s interest gradually dwindled and disappeared as they prepared for their final year at college. Kelley, however, has no interest in college and can’t decide what it is he wants to do with his life. He is still as fascinated as ever with vampires and hasn’t given up his investigations even as his brothers’ interest waned. He still has a strong belief that they exist. When Queen Edith Fournier comes looking for Kelley with some incredible information, research and a secret agenda, Kelley is in turns skeptical and excited beyond measure at the prospect which now lay before him….if he agrees to accompany Queen Edith and accept the opportunity she offers to meet a dhampir.I love this intriguing short story, bringing in another new extension of the Sullivan and Deschanel families, and their connections to the two main protagonists. Kelley is delightful and just beginning to realise the belief and wish he’s held for so long may just be about to come true. The possibilities are boundless and I can’t wait to see where Kelley’s eventual decision takes him. Both families have evolved and expanded hugely since the first couple of books and the lagniappes add to the overall series. I’d love to see Kelley included in future stories, bringing in a completely different characteristic. And as always, Sarah Cradit’s writing is imaginative and expressive. My thanks to Sarah Cradit for sending a digital ARC in return for an honest review. Dark Blessing is due for release on the 5th June 2015.

This is just a peek, only the beginning of an exciting new ride in the world of our favorite paranormal family! This story brings us into the life of the Landry triplets. One of the triplets, Kelley, desperately wants a different kind of life than that of his siblings. We see just how far he'll go to achieve his dreams.I'm so anxious to see where this story goes! If you're a follower of the Crimson and Clover series, you'll want to read this short story now. Maybe the next book will bring him into the loop of characters we've come to know and love. Cradit's writing is superb. She draws you into her world and doesn't let go until the last page, and leaves you wanting more!!

Years ago, he and his brothers - the three of them, triplets - were interested in vampires. Now that they are adults and close to finishing college, Kelley has never lost that passion and is sure they do actually exist. He'd been helping out at the bar of a family member, when a woman who introduces herself as 'Queen Edith' walks in looking for him.Edith's online name is one known to Kelley, and her latest research has her not only convinced that vampires exist, but where to find one! She convinces Kelley, who in turn convinces his brothers, to travel from their home in New Orleans to a concert in Seattle, Washington for a concert. The venue has five stages, and the person Edith is convinced she has pegged as a vampire plays in one of the scheduled bands. Kelley finds out there is something 'special' about his family, and that the vampire was also looking for HIM.I like the idea of a 'fresh' vampire story. Ms. Cradit delivers a means of existence for vampires for which I've not seen before. I'm certainly not the foremost authority on vampire stories, but I really enjoy the premise of this one. This story is a lagniappe, so as a reader I was left wondering what happens next. My curiosity has certainly been piqued enough that I must have more information on the Sullivan family and need to hear what happens to Kelley and his family.I did receive a copy of the novella from the author for an honest review, and I've attempted to be as honest as possible.
