By Dan Z Star Wars author and aficionado Adam Bray returns with Star Wars Rebels: Visual Guide: Epic Battles, another stunning book capturing the essence of Star Wars Rebels, the television series that reveals the beginnings of the Rebellion. Set between Episodes III and IV, the series is about to start Season 2 with great anticipation amongst Star Wars fans, and this book serves an excellent companion piece to the series. Full of beautiful, full color illustrations, as well as factoids and information, Epic Battles is a tantalizing treat for both new fans, as well as those of us who experienced Rebels Season One.The book is an excellent refresher to Season One of Rebels that covers major plot points from the series. Whether you have time to re-watch Season One or not, Epic Battles has you covered. In fact, the book’s title is a bit misleading: while battles of significance and scope are covered, the book is much more than that. Not only was it a trip down memory lane, but it features excellent profiles of both major and minor characters from the series.It also provides some great information; one of the more interesting aspects is the Data File sections. Certain characters are highlighted (the Ghost crew; Darth Vader, etc.), and offers bits of trivia, such as character ages. There is also a page with the call signs of the Ghost crew, as well as a telling explanation as to why Kanan is Spectre-1, instead of the team leader, Hera. There is some real insight into characterization here that will add to any Star Wars Rebels discussion.We also get a graph which explains the hierarchy of the Empire, as well as who each respective faction answers to. It is an excellent resource, as well as an entertaining tomb. Star Wars Rebels: Visual Guide: Epic Battles is another wonderful book from DK Publishing that will accentuate any Star Wars library. By Jason Repp Awesome guide to an already AWESOME SHOW my favorite Star Wars cartoon ever!!!!! More so than the clone wars ever was. Rebels is the Star Wars cartoon fans deserve!!!!!! Love the parts about Ahsoka and Darth Vader and cannot wait to see what goes down!!!!
