About the Author Elicia M. Seawell started out as a freelance graphic artist and fell in love with writing when she began her work in the newspaper industry. After long sleepless nights, she found writing as a way to combat her insomnia however most of her characters were developed while standing in the frozen food section deciding on ice cream. She is the author of "Peach River Acres." She is also the author of the self-published YA novella, "Shadows: The Story of the Kayouta."

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A wonderful read By Amazon Customer I enjoyed this book very much. I've had a long interest in Tarot myself and this book draws on the Tarot to weave a story that is both believeable and engaging!
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Editor please? By Kimberly Gould I really liked this story, which is why I was so disappointed to find typographical and clerical errors throughout. Most were so minor it was only the editor in me getting jarred by them. A typical reader probably wouldn't notice. But the missed words, the double words, the mistakes in punctuation, they really deteriorated the experience.Nevertheless, Katie has a Harry Potter-esque story where she learns she has a family history, a debt to pay, an inheritance... a lot of parallels. She is a good person through to the core that makes you want to root for her through all the nastiness the author throws at her.I had a problem with the last 75 pages or so. I found the conclusion to be drawn out in the wrong places. I found a plot hole in one of the late reveals. In general, I enjoyed the first half of this book more than the second. That said, it wasn't unsatisfying. Things wrap up nicely with a tie-in to a sequel. I look forward to reading more from Elicia.
