In this funny fairy tale and nursery rhyme mash-up, characters from their respective stories team up to compete, but what about Red? Turns out the Big Bad Wolf is not so bad, and he needs some new skates, too. Many other tales also make cameos, and it's fun to try and name those that the text does not mention. The text, which strings together revised versions of well-known lines ("All the king's horses and all the king's men put the competition together again"), is the centerpiece. Everything is united by a cartoon style with magical colors—think Candy Land in winter. Even with all the changes, the story still follows the general drift of the original: little girl goes to her grandma's house, wolf appears, and a woodsman tries to save the day. Only one aspect differs significantly…the wolf is on the winning side. From the Author I love to skate! So to put a classic fairytale favorite like Little Red on ice seemed like the most fun ever! I rewrote and revised this story many times until I worked in as many fairytale and nursery rhyme friends as possible. (My favorite line? "Old MacDonald slipped and fell. E-I-E-I-OUCH!") The result is a witty wintry treat complete with Humpty Dumpty, The Three Pigs, Rapunzel, Jack and Jill and many more! I hope this book warms up your winter reading! I had twizzles of fun writing it.

It's a completely original story using your favorite fairy tale characters! Amazing illustrations and hilarious jokes for the younger set. Don't miss this sure-to-be classic!

As a huge lover of fairy tale crossover stories, I was excited to read this to my son.This story features the characters and popular phrases from about 20 different children's stories/poems but tells an entirely new story about Little Red Gl(R)iding Hood and her quest for a ice skating partner. She is looking to compete (and hopefully win) in a contest so that she can get a new pair of skates.This is a great book to read after your child is familiar with some of the Mother Goose nursery rhymes so that they can get the references. The illustrations are fun and cartoon-like (almost reminded me of the Powerpuff Girls). I love the great catch phrases such as: "she swizzled and twizzled across the ice" in reference to her skating and "Oh, slippery slush" as her exclamation to replace "oh drat". Definitely a great addition to your child's collection of books.Looking forward to more by this team!

A re-writing of Little Red with other fairy tale characters thrown in, it's a delight. It's also funny, which makes it a hit for kids. The artwork is bright and Little Red is precious. My kiddos really enjoyed it! It'll be a favorite this season.
