Hate/Love This Book By EW Reader It would have been easy to hate this book, as it seemed to be an in-your-face assault on my 60+ year old, obese, flabby, over-analyze/do-nothing, change-resistant, sedentary, male self. I’d devoted years to “actively” avoiding/disregarding any knowledge about being fat. The blunt tone of the writer (IE. “When you know these (health) dangers, it is pretty hard to assume them unless you are suicidal.”) could have been inflammatory.Instead, this was the clear, slap-in-the-face tone/delivery that kept me reading. I NEEDED this message and all the information provided. And to make changes. Since completing the book in 1 day, I’ve started to re-read it; making notes of all the immediately doable guidance, and posting them where they will be acted upon. And to e-x-e-r-c-i-s-e! This book has been an inspiration.Will hate to give up the slothful lifestyle that got me where I am today, but anticipate loving the health, energy, flexibility and fitness that this life change promises.

It also goes into explaining why people are reluctant to take charge of their health. While I don't like the fact that the book refers being fat as a 'sin'. It is true being over-weight can causes some serious health issues and bad lifestyle habits will cost you in the long run. Very useful book over all, I do wish it cover things like plant-based diet. Which has been proven to be useful for weight-loss.
