A Light-Hearted Romp through a Fantasy World By Amazon Customer Barry Burgess has created a world where normal goes just a tad sideways, as a teenage bully takes over a fantasy kingdom and needs a good, old-fashioned momster to rein him in. It's hard to get specific without giving away any plot twists, but the story starts on Planet Earth with a family and a marriage gone awry, and it quickly detours into a world that needs the shepherding of two good parents. On the way, two children learn just how cool their parents are, and an orphan finds a home of her own. This stand-alone book definitely sets itself up for a sequel, so there may be subsequent stories down the line. The illustrations, albeit few, do a great job of bringing the tale to life.

The various characters, human and otherwise, draw us into their personal challenges, sometimes humorous, sometimes scary, and always thrilling. Will each person discover their new abilities and use them to help themselves as well as all the creatures that now depend on them to survive? Gnomes, pixies, ogres, zombies, centaurs - just a few of the intriguing characters in this wondrous tale that leaves the reader joyous and in excited anticipation for a book two.
