This book is a four year journey written from a wife’s perspective of what happens when you love someone with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and you aren’t prepared with the knowledge of the signs to look for or how to handle this illness; and how to get back up and help yourself along the way. Fran Siebe is an artist who married a soldier, and was not prepared for what happened after her husband set foot overseas. She writes about how for years PTSD had become the ruling factor in their lives and the effects it had on her and her family. Her book lists symptoms she noticed and dealt with and her hope is to now shine a bright light on this illness. “Awareness is the key factor in stopping PTSD from unnecessarily destroying people, marriages and families. PTSD is like a virus that sneaks in when you aren’t looking and takes over everything. If one person can see themselves in what I went through and recognize the symptoms I have listed in this book before it gets in and spirals everyone in the family out of control, then my being vulnerable and putting my story out there will be worth it."

About the Author Fran Siebe, formerly known as Fran McAndrews, grew up in New York before moving to South Florida where she has resided with her family for the past twenty years. She holds a BFA in Fine Art with a minor in Education. She owns and operates an art studio where she works as an artist and teacher and an online art gallery where she sells her work. Her paintbrush will always remain her voice and now, as an author, her goal is to raise awareness for PTSD. She also plans to work as a life coach and spiritual counselor helping women find their own inner strength and happiness.

By Dlaspina Through her own personal story of love, family, war and PTSD, the author takes you down the incredibly hard road of the heartbreaking, real-life relationship sacrifices that the men and women who serve this country and the families who love and stand by them, deal with on a daily basis. She tells what she has learned from loving someone with PTSD and brings to light the importance of PTSD awareness. The author's beautiful artwork, as well as a list of PTSD symptoms and suggested reading list are also included in the book. I found this book easy to read and very insightful. I was inspired by the author's honesty in sharing her story and by her courageous battle back to reclaim a sense of happiness once again in her life.

I could relate to the author and it helped me realize I am not the only one that deals with a spouse with PTSD. I couldn't put the book down and read it in one sitting because I needed to know the outcome. The author is a very brave women to share her story and I commend her for her honesty and bravery.
