39 of 41 people found the following review helpful. Inspiring and helpful book By Nerdy Girl A helpful book for those who want to merge practical action steps with metaphysical principles. Author Derek Rydall is not shy about sharing his own journey, and never sets himself up as a "guru." His examples are very much rooted in the real world, and understandable to anyone who's searching for more meaning in their lives. His "Seven Stages of Emergineering" give the reader a blueprint on how to work through the process. The stages include visioning, creating a plan, and acting "as if" the conditions you desire are already in your life. He includes exercises and meditations to assist you along the way.I've read a lot of self-help books, and this one stands out. Rydall's sincerity and belief that a better world is possible through self understanding, made this especially inspiring. One of of the most helpful sections was where he discussed how to deal with habitual behaviors. When we're in a rut it can be hard to get out and make positive changes. Because of this, I found his sections on "kicking old habits" and "finding your emerging edge" to be incredibly motivational. This is the type of book you'll pick up time and time again. A powerful evolutionary guide to transforming your life By Michael Mapes I'm devouring this book, because as someone who loves reading and learning about spirituality there is so much goodness inside Emergence. It's an evolution on a lot of what you "think you know" about self-help, spirituality, and how to really live a life full of purpose and meaning. The idea that we're already good enough, that we don't need fixing, and that there's nothing wrong with us, allowed me to breathe a deep sigh of relief, and know that I already have what I need...if only I can create the conditions to allow it to be activated within myself.If you've tried to improve your life, and you're still struggling, or feeling like there must be something more, then Derek's book is an absolute must-read. Give yourself the gift of this book, and spend some time really absorbing Derek's stories, teachings, and emergence process, and watch as miracle after miracle, positive transformation after positive transformation occurs.

I have been following Derek for several years now and was excited to order this book. Even before I purchased the books (2) I knew from deep inside this book had a purpose. This book is a keeper and a gift-giver . I can simply say this book is beautiful, honest, thought provoking, and a honor to read. I have only a few books purchased worthy of gift giving. I bought 2 books. One I will keep and I will journal my thoughts, insights, feelings and expose my true authentic self along side Derek's message from beginning to end as it calls me forth. Then I will place the book in a very special place where I can access it when needed. The second book I will proudly present to my sixteen year old grandson with a note to explore it, soak it up, taste it, and savor every word of it and journal honestly and openly. One day he will get my book and read my journal private notes. This book is one of the precious items I will leave behind as a treasure of wealth. Maybe a great-great-grandson will read it some day and pass it on. Thank you Derek for a beautiful gift worth keeping and giving.
