Abby left Olympus behind for the only thing she ever wanted: freedom. Things are going great until one colossal misstep lands her right back into Olympus politics and under the steely-eyed glare of Zeus. To make up for it, Zeus demands she make a love match between two people of his choice. Easy peasy for the Goddess of Love, right? Wrong. Abby stumbles into an ex-lover, a dead demi-god, and the realization that a crucial relic has been stolen right out from underneath Zeus’ nose. Between the gods breathing down her neck and fighting an attraction between two woefully wrong men, Abby will have to keep her wits about her so she can solve this mess and get back to her comfortable life and expensive cappuccino machine. Unfortunately for Abby, things are never easy when the gods get involved.

This is Greek Mythology in depth, at its best, at its funniest! Who knew Aphrodite was so funny and was so snarky! I loved her! This story was a great fun read! I think it is perfect for summertime because it is light, quick, easy reading and tons of fun!GREAT cast of characters. Of course you know them already - Zeus, Hermes, Artemus, and Aphrodite of course, and so many others but - like you've never seen them before. This is kind of like a behind the scenes look at "a day in the life of the Gods". And of course there is a human thrown in the mix, a man human! "This is going to be the straw that tips Zeus over the camel." "The camel?" "Whatever that saying is." I wasn't one to pick up the local slang. "Don't Zeus darling me, Aphrodite. You've exposed our world to mortals. If you were anyone else, I would smite you where you lay." Smite? Who said anything about smiting? The first stirrings of real fear roiled within me." "Smite me?" I chuckled with what I hoped appeared to be genuine humor. "It's been ages since you've smote anyone." "The best part of the entire re-design was the industrial coffee machine sitting against the wall. No one could go on a mission without coffee." - Amen to that sister!Thank you "WanderLust Book Tours" for sending me this book for my honest review!

By Melody BookLover My first impression was - Something about the cover made me smile and think of Meg Ryan. The beautiful mess that you know is going to work out in the end. I was right. While the serious matter of the book cannot be ignored, the quirky bits keep you engrossed. Abby soon becomes your best friend you haven't heard from in awhile and this is her story. The first couple of pages were entertaining enough to keep me reading. As I got to the middle, I felt - The pace has slowed down some. Abby's more reflective than funny now. Sure, you still giggle here and there but you start to reason out Abby's future as much as she does. I have to say up to this point, I am impressed. I have laughed out loud, had fun and thought about serious stuff with Abby. I like her and Babin is turning out to be a really good writer. As I neared the end, I thought - I really liked Abby. Some chick-lit protagonists can be irritating to the point of not finishing the book. But Abby grows on you. Despite the purely fictional settings, Abby's character is realistic and likeable. Babin's sometimes snarky approach to dialogue is a sure means of making the reader giggle. Off and on, I felt the book come to a slowed pace that I did not think was necessary. Someone else may feel different as one reader highlighted to me, these slow scenes were necessary as a means for Abby and reader to reflect on the next step. I'll let you be the judge. My final impression and recommendations - This was a light-hearted read that will please anyone looking for a weekend escape. There is no deep plot and even if Greek mythology does not appeal to you, I do recommend that you take the story as it comes to you. If you like chick-lit and enjoy watching your female lead grow from chapter to chapter, you will definitely love the magic Babin has created between the pages of Out of Practice Aphrodite.Disclosure - As a Quality Reads UK Book Club member, I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. So, I'm partial to books that are in those type of genre's even though I read an eclectic mix of others. I also tend to sway to the more fun and lighthearted authors and those that have kick ass female heroines. This book combines all of my loves in books - hunky guys, smart females and a mystery to solve. I can't wait to read the next one in the series!
